Fabricators should study the following points carefully before sending the material for galvanizing:

1. Normal Chemical Pickling and Steel surface preparation for galvanizing are useless us some surface residues (such as mill lacquer, welding slag, varnish, water-insoluble paints, adhesives, and sand used in the making of castings) are not removed by the standard chemical cleaning methods can be removed by mechanical cleaning (in order to make the surface ready for galvanizing we recommend Grit Blasting). As mentioned above, Galvatec is doing these services for our customers in competitive prices.
2. All welded areas must be clean and free of slag prior to arriving at the galvanizer’s plant. The cleaning solutions do not remove the slag and the result is uncoated steel.
